His Grace Is A Gift To Us!

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  I love this scripture: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  I know we have heard this possibly many times.  But let it sink in today.  We are saved by his grace through our faith.  It's not something we can earn.  When we need forgiveness, it is extended.  When we feel lost and have stepped away from God, it is extended.  His grace is sufficient for all our needs.  Let his grace cover us today.  Let his grace save us....it is a gift from God.  Be Blessed!

Keep The New Year Simple~

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  In going forward for this new year, let's strive to simplify our lives.  Not just in how we live but in how we think.  Allan Chalmers said, "The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."  Let's take that to heart.  Sometimes we make our lives more stressful then it needs to be.  Sometimes we over analyze to the point of exhaustion.  Just remember God is in control and wherever we are today is where we need to be.  Embrace each day where we are, allow God to work through us.  Look for opportunities to bless people and let God bless us!  Be Blessed!

God Is Not Our Genie..

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  Sometimes even in the midst of a crowd we feel alone.  But God is there.  Even in situations when we feel that he has left us, He is there.   He is there even when it seems we can't pay our bills.  He is there when we feel so sick we can't lift our heads.  He is there when it seems everyone has turned against us.  He is not our wishing well however, nor our Genie.  He does not appear on demand or create circles of magic for our wish list.  But He is there working behind the scenes creating learning lessons.  Taking us through the bad so we know not to go down that road again.  Letting us live out our pain so we understand where our help comes from.  Allowing situations for growth but always, always working to our good.  Just because we can't see the end of the journey doesn't mean we won't get there eventually.  Be Blessed!

God Is Our Hope!

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  Yesterday I heard of at least two young people who committed suicide in our area just recently. I'm talking 8th grade on down.   That number seems to be growing.  We have to ask ourselves, as children of God are we demonstrating the hope that is in our Lord Jesus.  People are losing hope and because they do not know our Lord and Savior they are checking out.  God is our hope!  We need to shout it to this lost and dying world.  Without Him there is no hope!  I love verse 5:  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.  Please pray for hope for our world and our people, especially our young people.  Be Blessed!

Romans: 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

He Binds Up our Wounds!

Good Morning Christian Peeps! -- Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Author unknown.  In light of the tragedy in Connecticut the only comfort that is found is in God's word.  Below are a few scriptures to soothe our troubled hearts.  Be Blessed!

Psalm 34:18 – The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. New Living Translation
Psalm 23:4 – Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil .for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.
Psalms 147:3 – He heals the broken heartened, binding up their wounds.
Matthew 5:4 – Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Whatever Tomorrow Brings.....

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  If we knew what was going to transpire tomorrow no doubt we would prepare.  If we knew what sickness we would incur we would certainly do all we could to avoid it.  But we don't.  Simple as that.  We as humans do not know what tomorrow holds.  We do not know which things that may seem bad for us might just make things better in the long run.  The only person who knows is God.  Only God knows what we will go through in the future and only He knows how it will end and when it will end.  With trust we give every situation every day to Him.  In his word it says that he works everything to our good.  So although it may seem bad today in the future it could be for our good.  It's about turning loose, letting go of the imaginary reigns and letting God lead us wherever we need to go!  Be Blessed!

Are We Participating With Purpose?

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  How are we running our race?  How are we doing our job?  How are we rearing our children?  How are we living our lives?  It's a question not many of us want to face.  1 Corinthians Chapter 9 talks about running the race so as to win the prize....not aimlessly.  Sometimes I find myself half doing something, just need to get through the day.  Just doing enough to get by....but what happens is spills over into everything that we do and we find ourselves hardly doing anything with purpose.  Let's not lose that winning spirit.  Let's not let ourselves get tired of the race.  Let's breathe new life into everything that we do!  It's time to run with purpose, it's time to parent with purpose and it's time to love with purpose.  Let everything we do be the very best!  Be Blessed!

-- "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” – 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Love Came Down at Christmas!

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  The one thing that was given to us that one beautiful Christmas morning was the birth of a savior but more than that it was the birth of a love like no other.   If only we could just let go of the stress of gift giving and focus on our love for one another, I believe that gifts as we know it would change.  It's not about finding that perfect gift but the everlasting gift.  Give the gift of love this Christmas season.  Give love in all the ways possible.  Take the time to find out what people really need and try to fill that need rather than purchasing something that we are not even sure they can use or even like.  Christmas has always been and always will be about LOVE!  Be Blessed!

LOVE CAME DOWN AT CHRISTMAS
Love came down at Christmas,
it came so Holy and bright,
to give us someone special,
a wondrous glorious light.
Love came down at Christmas,
to embrace us everyday
to show us true meaning
for now and always
Love came down at Christmas
not for gifts to behold
but so the love he gave us
could forever be told.

The View from Above is Quite Different!

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  I was reminded last night that God sees us and our problems much differently than we do.  We are in the midst of the problem walking around so of course it will look and feel big to us.  But think about this for a minute.  When we are walking through skyscrapers they seem giant as well because we are standing next to them but what do they look like when we are in a plane flying overhead?  They are quite small.  Well, the next time your problem seems too large, remember God sees it from above and for Him it looks small.  There is nothing too hard for God!  There is nothing too big for God!  Let's take our huge problems and give them to Him.  Quit looking at how big they seem and look at them from God's point of view.  We have a great big God!!!  Be Blessed!

Is Our Grace To Ourselves Sufficient?

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  We know that our friends, family, and children are all flawed, but like God, we look beyond their faults  to their needs.  We love them regardless of their imperfections.  Why then do we have such a hard time giving ourselves that same grace that we extend to other?.  Why do we believe that we are less deserving of that grace?  When we begin to treat ourselves and love ourselves as we love others, imagine the difference that will be made in our lives and those around us.  God loves us and forgives us, that should be enough!  Be Blessed!

Why We Try Too Hard!

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  For those of us who have been trying to make something happen in our lives, it bears worth looking at why we might be trying too hard.  I found these online and give Gwen Teatro the credit.  It's a little long but it just might free us up from a lot of pressure that we have been under.  Not only does she give us the 5 ways we try too hard but she gives some insight in how to stop the madness.  I hope this helps!  Be blessed!

-- To be Popular
I think everyone, to a greater or lesser extent, likes to be liked.  But, trying too hard to be popular gets in the way of our ability to make tough decisions and to lead in a judicious way.  In my experience, people respect and respond well to those leaders who are fair much more than those who focus on being popular.
To be Perfect
Those who strive for perfection can also have a tendency to micro-manage everything to death to avoid making any mistakes.  Of course the trouble is that, in so doing, they manage to annoy most everyone who works with them, or for them.  While it is admirable to want to do things well, it is not possible to get everything right all of the time.  It’s just not.
To be All-Knowing & All-wise
Leadership does not come with all the answers.  It’s too bad, but there it is.  If we try too hard to create the impression that we are the font of all knowledge, we are bound to disappoint.
To be Strong
To some people, a leader should always be strong and impervious to theproblems and worries that afflict other mortals.  While it is true that leadership asks us to bring our courage to work, it does not mean that we cannot share our concerns with others.  As individuals, trying too hard to be strong, places a great and unnecessary burden on us.  As leaders, it also excludes the possibility that others are willing and quite capable of helping.
1.    Know and Accept ourselves, warts ‘n all
I think having a good handle on what we’re good at and what we’re not good at, is a place to start.  It doesn’t mean that we should stop learning, growing and improving…not at all.  But having a certain confidence about who and how we are, somehow gives us permission to take the focus off ourselves and onto others without having to try so hard.
2.    Embrace the Imperfect
I struggle with this one all the time but I keep working on it because when I strive for perfection, I invariably achieve only frustration.
3.    Look and Listen More… Talk Less
I think, when we try too hard, there is a tendency to talk far too much.  Whatever the reason for this, while we are doing it, we are undoubtedly missing the opportunity to observe and listen to others. Incorporating the thoughts and ideas of others takes the pressure off us to have the right answers all of the time.
4.    Dare to be Vulnerable
This is about allowing our humanness to come through and striving to place more value on the giving and receiving of empathy.  I think human beings are stronger when they allow each other a glimpse into what matters to them. Trying too hard to be strong and stand apart from the rest leads not to strength but to isolation
5.    Lighten Up
Sometimes you just have to laugh.  When we’re trying too hard, it’s entirely possible that we’re also being way too serious about it all. Laughing at ourselves can take the pressure and worry out of most situations.  So, wherever you go, take your sense of humour with you.  It will serve you well.
