Where Is Our Focus

 Good morning, Christian Peeps,

This morning I want to talk about our focus.  Where is it positioned?  On God or on the world?  On the water?  Or on Jesus?

So many times, we get our eyes and our focus off God and begin to look around us at other things.  Social Media, Television, etc. and before we know it, we have lost sight of the one who is our joy.  We then become depressed, upset, angry and sad.  We wonder how we can even function when the world around us is so evil.

Well, the Bible gives us a story that speaks to this: Matthew 14: 22-33

Jesus Walks on the Sea

22 Immediately Jesus [a]made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now [b]in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.

25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.

27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, [c]“Be of good cheer! [d]It is I; do not be afraid.”

28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw [e]that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

33 Then those who were in the boat [f]came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Has there been a time when you knew that Jesus was the answer?  When you knew that if you would just keep your eyes on Him and not get distracted that you could experience joy and happiness?  But it's hard when the distractions come.  It's hard when we choose to scroll on social media or watch television, then to read our Bibles, or pray.  I'm not here to judge anyone, I have been guilty myself.  But it's like having a headache and knowing that if we take that ibuprofen, our headache will go away, but instead, we keep going, hoping it will just go away on its own.  It's the same with living for Jesus, we know what to do to be closer to Him, we know that if we focus on Him, instead of the things of this world, we can be happier, our lives can be full of joy; but instead, we take our eyes off of Him and become infected by the world.

Today, my hope and prayer for us all is that we will stay focused and, in those moments, when we get our eyes off Jesus, that we will quickly call out to Him like Peter did and He will bring our focus back to Him.

Jesus is our hope, not the world, Jesus.

Be Blessed!

We Will Not Lack

Psalm 34:8

Taste and see that the Lord is good
oh the joys of those who trust Him
Let the Lord's people show him reverence
for those who honor him will have all they need.
Even strong young lions go hungry sometimes
but those who trust in the Lord will never lack for any good thing.

A Dream Come True!

I just have to blog what I am getting ready to do.  Next Tuesday, I will be flying to Peru for a mission trip.  I have dreamed of this opportunity forever!  I am excited about what God is going to do in Peru.  I have held a lot of jobs in my life, made different amounts of money, but nothing is as satisfying to me as serving others.  I feel whole when I can reach outside myself and do something that affects others in a positive way.  So going to Peru is huge for me!  I don't have any expectations except that I want to be changed.  I want to be touched and made whole.  I know that sounds selfish, since the whole reason I am going there is to help others; but I believe that in helping others, its possible that the person doing the serving gets the greatest benefit.  "It is better to give then receive",  that's what the Bible says; and I believe that by giving you ultimately receive.

I am going to try and blog about everything that is happening.  I am going to keep a journal and then blog it when I return since my internet service will be very limited.  I am privileged to travel with some of the most amazing people that I have ever met!  We desire all of your prayers and positive thoughts as we embark on this journey!

Stay tuned.....

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  It is important that during this Holiday Season, we remember it is not what we get but what we can give.  Luke 6:38 says:  Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”  It's not the gifts we give others but the love we show toward them.  Money may help for a little while but love last so much longer.  I hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season and you are blessed!  Merry Christmas!

The End Of An Era!

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  I am sad to say that this will be my last post for a while.  When I started this ministry it was to uplift everyone before they started their day in hopes that in our discouragement we would know that God was there.  I have been doing this for 5 years now but feel that it is time to maybe move on to another ministry.  There have been many transitions in my life this year and this is just a number of doors that are closing for me.  But I know that God is getting ready to open other doors and that excites me.  I hope and pray that all of you have been encouraged at one time or another.  Most of them were for my benefit for sure!  God is so good!  I love you all and hope that whatever ministry God leads me into next I can continue to touch lives for him.  Always remember that God loves us all! That his will is for us to prosper, and to live in abundance but the key is that we first must believe that we are worthy to do so.  May God richly bless each and every one of you!
With much love!

Relinquish Control to God

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  Often we find ourselves faced with yet another dilemma in our lives.  We may worry or fret and often spend hours trying to figure out what we need to do, when really we can save ourselves lots of gray hair, upset stomachs and headaches by just releasing our worries to the one that has complete control.  Just as we would let our children go on a first date, first sleep over, or just a weekend away, we have to let our problems go as well.  We put our children in God's hands when they leave and relinquish control because once they leave us the control is pretty much gone.  The same goes for our problems.  Just as we believe that God and the angels watch over and keep our children safe, we also must believe that he will watch over and take care of our problems.  He promises in his word that he will. So today, if we are struggling with worry, doubt, decisions, just turn them over, relinquish control and let God take over.  It always works out in the end.  God knows best!  Be Blessed!

Keep Hope Alive

Good Morning Christian Peeps!  "When the world says "give up", Hope whispers, "try one more time".  It's that moment when we feel that we cannot try again, that we are tired of trying and not seeing results.  But it's when we push through the feeling of wanting to quit and embrace hope one more time that something wonderful can and will happen.  If we give up, then all chances of something happening goes away, but if we keep being determined to try again and again, then the possibilities remain.  It's those possibilities that keep us going.  It's those possibiliies that can make a difference.  Don't quit!  Don't give up!  Let hope float!  Be Blessed!
